TCWP staff work hard to protect and restore ecosystem integrity and public health, but ecosystem-wide invasive species and vector-borne disease prevention relies on all of us working together. Whether you are a landowner, resident, or visitor to Teton County, you can help us prevent the spread of invasive species and protect public health.
PlayCleanGo: Stop Invasive Species In Your Tracks
Did you know that invasive species seeds can travel hundreds of miles on vehicles and gear? Whether you are hiking, mountain biking, ORV-ing, horseback riding, fishing, paddling, whitewater rafting, climbing, hunting, or camping (did we miss anything?), you can prevent the spread of invasive species. Follow these easy steps however you recreate:
- REMOVE plants, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles.
- CLEAN your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site.
- STAY on designated roads and trails.
- USE CERTIFIED weed free hay and local firewood.

Report Invasive Species
While preventing the introduction of all invasive species is the best case scenario, we know that some invasive species still make it to Teton County. Identifying these locations quickly prevents establishment of the invasive species and reduces the inputs, like herbicide and labor, needed for management. Join WYLD Watch and report invasive plants in Teton County. You can report invasive plants through any of these:

Become a Habitat Hero
Ready to take an active role in helping to remove invasive species in Teton County? Join one of the Jackson Hole Weed Management Association partners for a weed pull to help improve wildlife habitat, restore native plants, and improve recreational access on public lands throughout Teton County. Think you may have invasive plants on your property? Know you have invasive plants but unsure where to start? We got you! Request a consultation, and our Landowner Programs Coordinator will schedule an in-person meeting on your property. Consultations usually take about an hour and can help you identify invasive species on your property, give you an opportunity to discuss management and landscaping goals, and identify problem areas that may otherwise escape notice. Don’t forget to ask about a property map and management plan, too!
